How to delete your account

Last updated: 2026-09-07

Which app, and who operates it

This page explains how to delete your Shield My Field account — both the Android and iOS mobile app and the shieldmyfield.com website. They share one account: deleting it in either one deletes it in both.

Shield My Field is operated by a Sociedad Anónima Promotora de Inversión de Capital Variable (S.A.P.I. de C.V.) incorporated under Mexican law, backed by PeninsuLawyers, based in Mérida, Yucatán. Data controller contact: legal@shieldmyfield.com.

Option 1 — from inside the app

  1. Open the app and sign in.
  2. Go to the Account tab.
  3. Choose Delete account and confirm.

Deletion is immediate and permanent. There is no grace period and no way to recover the account afterwards: we do not deactivate it, we delete it.

Option 2 — from the website

  1. Sign in at shieldmyfield.com/en/cuenta.
  2. Scroll down to Delete my account.
  3. Type DELETE to confirm.

Same as in the app: immediate and permanent. Nothing to install.

Option 3 — without the app and without your account

If you lost access to your sign-up email and cannot sign in to either one, email legal@shieldmyfield.com with the subject “Delete my account”. So we can identify you, tell us the email address you registered with.

Under article 31 of Mexico’s Federal Law on Protection of Personal Data Held by Private Parties, we answer your request within 20 business days and, where it applies, carry it out within the following 15 business days. There is no charge.

What gets deleted

Deleting your account permanently removes:

  • Your login and every active session on every device.
  • Your email address, your name and your language preference.
  • Your plan and the customer identifier tied to your billing.
  • Your saved developers and developments.
  • Your reviews and your votes on other people’s reviews.
  • Your due diligence reports.
  • Your legal questions.
  • Any profile claim requests you submitted as a developer.

What is kept, and why

  • Legal reports produced by the firm. These are PeninsuLawyers professional work product. They are kept, but unlinked from your identity: they stop being associated with your account and no longer name you.
  • Audit records. Where someone on our team verified a document or answered a question, the record that the action happened survives, but without identifying the person if that account was deleted.
  • Tax records. If you were ever charged, Mexican tax law requires invoices to be kept for five years. Those records are not destroyed before that period ends.
  • Public information about developers and developments. It is not yours and does not come from you: it comes from public registries (PROFECO, permits, irregularity registries) and is unaffected by an account deletion.

Before you delete: your subscription

If you have an active subscription, cancel it first. Deleting the account removes your data on our side, but does not by itself stop a recurring charge set up through the App Store, Google Play or our payment processor. If you already deleted the account and still see charges, email legal@shieldmyfield.com and we will sort it out.
